Movie Watchlist and Tracker
Organizing the movies you've watched is a great way to keep track of what you've seen and help you make better decisions when choosing something new to watch. It's also a great way to make sure you don't miss out on something you may have been interested in. By creating a watchlist and tracker, you can easily keep track of what you've watched and what you want to watch in the future. This way, you won't waste any time searching for a movie you've already seen, or miss out on something you would have liked to watch.
How to use this movie template
This template is fairly simple and consists of 2 databases: 🎞️ Movies and 👨🎨 Directors:
- 🎞️ Movies contains the list of all upcoming films you want to watch so as movies you’ve finished watching (those have different Status). It also contains properties like IMDB, My rating, Genre, Director, Date, URL and Duration to assist you with the question of “what to watch next?”
- 👨🎨 Directors database is connected with 🎞️ Movies database and helps you to determine directors you like the most
Now let’s jump to template features
The Watchlist
The main tool you’ll be using is 👀 My movies linked database. It represents several views of 🎞️ Movies database, each serving it’s purpose
By status
It’s your main workflow table. From it you are able swiftly move films through statuses and add new ones. Inbox and Done statuses are hidden because they will contain a lot of items with time and will take a lot of space even with an initial load limit of 10.
By genre
If you’re in a mood for some specific genre, navigate to this view. Movies inside are groupped by genre and sorted by Status, so Inbox, In progress and Rewatch will appear at the top of each group.
Top rated
The next time someone asks you what to watch, you won’t need to remember all films you’ve seen. This view is the list of movies you’ve rated sorted from best to worst.
By month
This view serves 2 purposes:
- to know when and which movies have you watched
- to keep track of time spent watching films (note the number near the month group)
Top directors
If you don’t have anything worthy in your inbox, check filmography of the directors who made your best-rated movies. It also answers the question “who’s your favourite director”.
Wrapping up
Overall, this template is a great way to keep track of the movies you've watched and the movies you plan to watch in the future. By using the different views, you can easily find and add movies to your watchlist, track their progress, and keep track of your favorite directors. With the help of this template, you can quickly determine what you want to watch next and make sure you don't miss out on something you would have liked to watch. So what are you waiting for?
